I recently stayed at a charming country hotel for a long weekend and I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering all the extra touches that were provided. The attention to detail was evident throughout, from the complementary drinks in the room to the lovely soft fluffy towels in the en-suite bathroom. The staff were also friendly and helpful, making sure that every guest felt welcome and well-cared for. The hotel was in a great location, perfect for exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

All was perfect, couldn't ask for anything more.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, good food, good location in middle of village but back from main road.

The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the local area, especially if you have a dog. You can enjoy lovely walks in the surrounding area. The Bistro and the adjoining conservatory offer a cozy atmosphere to relax and enjoy your meals. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities like tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast selection is delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from.

Some aspects of the hotel could use a bit of updating.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was centerally located in the village. Additionally, the hotel was pet friendly which allowed us to have our family dog in the room with us.

The bed was harder than usually accostumed to, especially after a day of driving.

The staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were clean, and it is situated in a delightful little village with friendly people and beautiful scenery.

The proprietors go to bed fairly early, and if you don't want to be locked out you should specifically ask for a front door key. If not, be sure to call them as the bell seems to be broken.

What a great New Year's stay! The staff were amazing, always welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect, close to great walking trails and stunning views. I loved the complementary drink and toiletries offered. The food was delicious with so many options. I especially enjoyed the breakfast selection with fresh options and local products.

The decor was a bit outdated and could use some refreshing. The room was a bit small and cramped, with not much space to move around.

It was very near to the Glengoyne distillery

The room is outdated and was not very clean, especially the bathroom which looked very dirty. Wifi signal was also very weak in the rooms. The restaurant is simply horrible. Orfered a venisson fillet as rare an it was well done. After complaining they jappily changed it, however, this time round they literally charcoaled it from the outside and it was totally raw on the inside. The meals for the rest of the party was equally horrible and parts of it inedible.

A very comfortable hotel based on a large country pub, in a quiet village. Comprehensive dinner menu, good breakfast.

The owner needs to make an effort to smile more and thus be more welcoming!

The hotel had a good location, just a short drive away from popular tourist attractions. The room was also a decent size with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was tasty with plenty of options to choose from.

The cleanliness of the hotel was extremely poor. The carpets were stained and there were dust and cobwebs throughout the room.

A warm welcome at reception, and a friendly atmosphere. Breakfast good, had dinner in the bar, good, very filling. Amanda and Kath very helpful and friendly despite their long hours. Room, very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. En-suite with bath/shower and plenty of towels.

The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. The location is lovely. The food is really delicious. The breakfast is great value included in room price. The room was beautifully and comfortably decorated.

Beds are a little bit too soft for us - but can that really count as a bad thing?!
